Encyclopedia of Detroit

The Detroit Tigers, founded in 1894, hold the distinction of being the oldest American League team to retain one city and name throughout their history. They played at various stadiums, notably Bennett Park and later, Navin Field, before settling at Tiger Stadium. In 200o the Tigers started the new millennium at a new field, Comerica Park. Despite periods of struggle, they've boasted legendary players like Lou Whitaker and Miguel Cabrera, continuing to captivate fans with their enduring presence in Detroit. Seamheads

The Seamheads Negro Leagues Database is a constantly evolving resource documenting Black professional baseball during the era of segregation. Recognized by MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred Seamheads is hailed as the most authoritative source for Negro league statistics. They cover games between Black major league teams, exhibitions with white major and minor league teams, and extend to Cuban and Mexican baseball of the same era. Currently spanning from 1886 to 1948 in the US, with Cuban seasons from 1899/1900 to 1927/28, and some Mexican seasons in the 1940s.  Built meticulously from box scores and contemporary accounts, it ensures accuracy without relying on year-end statistics.
